Aquachat is missing a friend....

Created by Helen 3 years ago

It is with tears in our eyes we remember our dear friend Brian. A fellow and much loved member of Aquachat. Brian's loss is still hard to comprehend. Cubicle 21 is once again empty, a bike is missing from the rack, we have an empty seat at the Cricketers and an enormous gap in our Aquachat family.

Aquachat - an early morning group of friends who meet at Fore Street Pool to swim together....only as the name suggests we end up enjoying a jolly good chat, with a good deal of laughter.... and occasionally we have a swim! Brian however was a disciplined member of Aquachat, he enjoyed his swim first. With a gentle jump into the water Brian would call out that it was "a bit wet in here" before setting off for his mile of front crawl. After the mile was achieved Brian joined us for a chat, to contribute to the entertainment, the stories and the perfectly clean and decent jokes....! Together we shared the joy of laughter and friendship.

Occasionally to entertain everyone Brian would swim a length or two of his 'own style' of breaststroke, very nearly drowning....not his strongest skill shall we say!

Brian was a strong believer in democracy. He shared with us his views, his intelligence, his wisdom and his home grown produce from his garden. At the Cricketers for coffee, Brian's smartarse phone curtailed our discussions when we got fanciful ideas that would have him laughing. But behind the tacky jokes and the inane Aquachat he was a kind and decent man who loved Diane to bits.

Together we shared the honour and the blessing of being able to call Brian our friend. A dear and much loved friend we will always remember.
