The kindness man I Knew
Created by Diane 3 years agoBrian or Pops as I call him was the most amazing kind hearted person i'd ever known. My mum has had the best times with him everything has come as a sudden shock to say the least.
He would do anything for anyone even wildlife hence how he's sadly not with us today. I'll share a funny story to the lengths he would help wildlife 'oh my days'....
So....one day we drove along to see a Squirrel in the middle of the road. Brian being Brian stop wrapped it in a towel and past it to me in the back of the car to take to the vets, omg I could see this going wrong..... Well.....! The blinking thing wasn't very hurt woke up to run around the car and out the door, we've never laugh so much in our life's surprise it didn't bite any of us .... Brilliant times that are going to be missed but never forgotten. Sadly the next good Deed of pops wasn't as good.
On the morning of 31st August Brian was trying to get a baby bird out of his garage that was obviously comfy up there. Working with ladders most of pops life being in the fire service, you just wouldn't of thought this to happen. Still to this day we don't really know what happened as it was a split second of telling mum he wanted to help it out. We'll never know how the ladder slipped from him and to full as we're aware on he's head as there was no other injuries. Ambulance where very quick and the kind help from a neighbour Tony to support my mum till I come, even the baby bird stayed around for me show pops he got out safe that he done he's good deed for the day. Brian was taken to the Neurosciences critical care unit (NCCU) at Addenbrooke's hospital, they worked around the clock to help. We were only aloud 1hour a day to see him :-( I drove mum every day with the support of my brother when he could be with us. Weeks went by many visits form mum, myself, Darren and his son Julian but unfortunately on the 26th September he peacefully pass way with mum and myself beside him...
Apologies if me telling you what happened has upset you, just wanted to share what a wonderful person inside & out he really was.
